7 Amazing Grocery Shopping Tips
by Nick Cavataio

Here are some no-nonsense,
Cavman-do tips for grocery shopping.

1. Number one rule - never go grocery shopping
hungry. I know there are times when we go
grocery-shopping hungry, like right after work
or on the way home from church. Many of the
grocery stores have Deli sections or even a
small Chinese or Italian restaurant where you
can grab a quick sandwich or slice of pizza
before you attack the isles. It would be wise
to protect yourself from the temptation of
impulse buying by getting something to eat
before you buy the first item on your list.

2. Use a list to shop from. Having a list
will help you to keep focused on what you need
verses what you want as you navigate up and
down the isles. You will save time, money
and calories if you purchase only what is on
your list.

3. If your mission is to pick-up the milk and
bread on the way home from work, then keep in
mind that it's getting towards the end of the
day and your tired and hungry. Those items are
in the back of the store for a reason. Don't be
tempted to buy what's not on the budget.

4. I know it's not always possible, but try to
make it a rule not to bring the kids with you.
If you have ever been grocery shopping with
children then you know what I am talking about.
I love my son and daughter but it can be very
distracting, costly and stressful grocery
shopping with them.

5. Do your menu planning, have your list ready.
Research tells us the more time we spend in the
store and the more store clerks we talk to the
more money will transfer from our pockets to theirs.

6. If cooking is not your passion, that's ok.
There are many really good low fat/high carb
cookbooks you can rely on to help you conquer
the kitchen and find healthy meals to cook. You
also can find all of our contact information at
http://www.chefnickskitchen.com and we will answer
or get the answers for any cooking questions you
might have.

7. Beware of what kind of coupons you use. You
can save the dollars, but a good portion of the
coupon items is not what you would call nutritious.
It would be better to use your coupons for non-food
items.
